TUTORIAL STEPS:

A) Create a table on the Tables tab - see how to do this in the previous
Create and manage your tables tutorial.

B) Create a template

  1. Open the Templates tab.
  2. Click the New template button.

C) Add text from table

  1. Click the Text icon, and then under Table value select the Text option. In the newly opened menu select the Text option.
  2. Place the element on the canvas. A new Tables sub-window will open.

D) Tables sub-window

  1. Select a table item from the list.
Note: You will see here the same items as on Tables tab, as well structured into folders.

E) Configure how you want to acquire data from the table.

After the table has been selected, it is required to specify the way the data is pulled from it into the text from table element. To achieve a result as in our example:

  1. Set the Variable selector to Manual and select the Column ID of the table.
  2. Set the Variable selector to Manual and select the Row ID of the table.

Explanation of Variable selector, which you can set to Manual or Data Source:

  • Manual - lets the user select a specific column/row of the table from the Column ID/Row ID dropdown box.
  • Data source - means that the table cell data is inserted dynamically according to the parameter added in the Data source editor.  The dynamic data source value is building reference ID for Row or Column, i.e. it is composing a key that references a table cell using the dynamic values.

F) Add image from table

  1. Click the Media icon and select the Image from table option.
  2. Place the element on the canvas. A new Tables sub-window will open.
  3. Select the table from the list.

G) Configure how you want to acquire data from the table.

  1. Set the Variable selector to Manual and select the Column ID.
  2. Set the Variable selector to Manual and select the Row ID.

H) Further design ideas for your content:
  • Add static text,
  • add a rectangle to enclose multiple elements in it,
  • reposition and resize your elements,
  • customize the Font style of your text elements,
  • align your text elements.
I) Click the Save & Publish button in the lower right-hand corner when your template is final. Now it is ready to be assigned and shown on your display as a standalone feature or used as part of your food menu template.
