Article summary

Now we will create an Q-SYS Core audio device configuration in your Simpleway Cloud instance, which you set up in the previous audio configuration tutorials.

TUTORIAL STEPS:

A) Audio devices tab

  1. Open the Audio devices tab.
  2. Click the Add new device button.

B) Add new device window

  1. Select the 3rd party device option.

C) Audio device configuration - part 1

  1. Select the QSC Q-SYS Core option from the Device type drop-down box.
  2. Set a unique ID. You can think of this ID as a device name assigned by a specific user. It is reasonable to name it after some functional purpose, location or technical room, etc.
  3. Insert the IP address of the device in the Host field. 
  4. Select the Secure checkbox. A new Certificate fingerprint field will appear under the Secure checkbox.

D) Q-SYS core manager

  1. Login to the Q-SYS core manager in a separate browser window.

E) Fingerprint

  1. Open the Certificates tab in the Network category.
  2. Copy the SHA-256 fingerprint.

F) Audio device configuration - part 2

  1. Paste the SHA-256 fingerprint into the Certificate fingerprint field.
  2. Type user credentials that you have set in Q-SYS Core Manager and Q-SYS Designer during the QSC Core Installation  
  3. Click the Enable checkbox to activate the connection to the device.
  4. Click the Save button. The audio device configuration Outputs will be configured automatically based on the configurations in the Q-SYS Designer, and the zones for these outputs will be automatically created in the Zones tab.

G) Check if the connection is established

  1. Locate the previously created audio device configuration.
  2. Check the audio device configuration status icon: if the icon is green, the connection is successful, otherwise, the icon is red.
