Release notes version 7.9 - November 2023

Overview of operational changes and new features deriving from the software upgrade from version 7.8 to version 7.9.

1. General announcements in GateUI and BaggageUI 

Newly you have the possibility to select general, non-flight related announcements in GateUI and BaggageUI with the General announcements button in the upper main area in both user interfaces. 

After clicking on the General announcements button, announcements for paging are available. Configure zones and languages same as for flight related announcements. 

2. Announcement scheduler with configurable announcement set

When you configure a new schedule, you select an announcement for the schedule. The announcement set from which you select this announcement is now configurable on the Announcement configuration tab. Before you could select any system announcement, which our customers found confusing. Now you can create the announcement set for your Announcement scheduler. 

For demo purposes we use the same announcement set (called ops-generic) on Announcement scheduler tab, Paging tab and General announcements in GateUI and BaggageUI. Announcements created on the Paging library tab are automatically synchronized with this announcement set and are thus available for selection on the Announcement scheduler tab, Paging tab and General announcements in GateUI and BaggageUI.

3. Flight data feed provider

FlightAware is the new flight data provider for our Airport.cx cloud solution. 

A flight status mapping table is ready for you in the tutorial including instructions how to change the "translations" so you see the flight status you need on your displays.
