Multiple Tables on one Template

  • PDF

Article summary

You can create many different constraints for the same table using multiple data sources. This will allow you to use multiple data lists created by the simple table wizard in the template to display differently constrained data from the same table.

In the steps described, we will use a new beverage table and split its contents into two data lists using different data sources. We will look at a very simple example of restricting one of the two data sources using the Offset function, which will allow one of the data lists to continue where the other one left off.

Topics covered:

TUTORIAL STEPS:

A) Create a table on the Tables tab - see how to do this in the Create and manage your tables tutorial.

  2. Click the button to insert your table and open it in the row template design mode.

Note: In our example we set we set the number of pages to 1 and the number of rows per page to 4, so we already know that the second data list will need to skip the first 4 rows of the table.
E) Click the Save button after you design the row template.

F) Copy the data list element using Ctrl+C command and paste it on canvas using Ctrl+V command if you wish to skip the designing phase of the row template for your second data list.

Otherwise, you can create a new data list with simple table wizard again, select the second data source in the Setup your table window and design the row template from scratch. In this case skip to tutorial step J)
