Welcome on board. This is the user manual for Simpleway Airport CX, the unified platform that runs your airport's displays and voice announcements from one place.

These step-by-step tutorials cover both sides of the system. First the display side: designing content for FIDS and digital signage, from simple single-purpose screens to dynamic, data-driven multi-page layouts, plus display and device management. Then the voice side: creating, scheduling, and paging announcements, connecting your audio devices, and running both flight-related and general announcements, including call forward.

To start your display installation, begin with Connect and Configure Displays.

For your voice installation, begin with the Introduction to Audio Configuration.

FAQ

What is Simpleway Airport CX?

Simpleway Airport CX is a cloud platform that runs your airport’s displays and voice announcements from one place. It covers flight information displays (FIDS), digital signage, PA announcements and flight data. See the Airport CX product overview.

Where should I start if I am new to Airport CX?

For displays, start with Connect and configure displays. For voice announcements, start with Introduction to audio configuration. Each tutorial lists the topics it covers at the top.

Can Airport CX run flight information displays (FIDS)?

Yes. You can build departure and arrival lists, gate screens, ticketing screens and security wayfinding screens that update automatically with live flight data. Learn more about the Simpleway FIDS, or start building with Create a flight list.

Where does Airport CX get its flight data?

Airport CX has a built-in AODB (Airport Operational Database), so displays and announcements use the same flight data. Operators can also edit flights and set how flight status remarks are translated. See AODB and flight management and Change flight data.

Can Airport CX play flight announcements automatically?

Yes. Announcements can start from flight events, run on a schedule, or be played by staff when needed. Learn more about the Simpleway voice announcement system, or see Play flight-related announcements.

Can Airport CX make announcements in more than one language?

Yes. Text-to-speech announcements are available in more than 80 languages. Staff can also speak an announcement and show it as text on screens, with AI translation. See Speech-to-text with visual paging and AI translations.

Which PA systems work with Airport CX?

Airport CX is fully integrated with the nnounce audio platform, Simpleway’s own audio solution. It also works with Q-SYS through the QSC Core and with other PA systems. See Introduction to audio configuration.

What tools do airport staff use for daily tasks?

Each role has its own user interface: CheckinUI for check-in, GateUI for boarding, BaggageUI for baggage announcements, TugmanUI for baggage handling and FlexUI for paging. See Introduction to UIs.

How does Airport CX help in an emergency?

With Scenarios, you decide in advance which announcements and display content play in which zones for a given situation. When the situation happens, you activate the scenario. See Scenarios introduction.

Can I see Airport CX working with my own airport’s flights?

Yes. Simpleway offers a free 14-day trial connected to real flight data from your airport, so your team can test displays and announcements with your own flights. You can request a trial on our website.
