Create an embedded media PLAYLIST

Prev Next

Embedded media playlists let you turn any screen into a slideshow, mixing images and video in whatever combination you need. Run the playlist full-screen or place it within a specific part of your layout — see the example below.

Keep in mind, this playlist runs continuously and doesn't support scheduling. If you need your content to play at specific times, see our Date & Time driven playback - SCHEDULER tutorial.

TUTORIAL STEPS:

 A) Design new content in the Templates tab - see how to do this in the previous Create basic STATIC content tutorial.

B) We will start by adding the Media Library element to our canvas. After the element is added, we can select existing media from the Media Library or add new media to our Media Library.

  1. Click on the Media icon on the top menu and choose Media Library.

  2. Place the element on the canvas; the Media Library window pops up for media selection.

Option 1:  Choose existing media from the Media library.

Option 2: Upload a new media file to the library and use it in our new template.

C) Create a Media playlist composed of images or videos on your template and set the display duration of each playlist item.

  1. On the right-hand menu, under Media, configure individual media files for your playlist.

  2. Click on the Add button to add more media files.

  3. Under Transition, you can select the type of transition animation to take effect.

Note: See that in our sample above, the image is full screen with the same resolution as the content template (optimal situation). Therefore, the element's position on the template desktop is the top left corner (X:0, Y:0).
If required, several smaller media boxes with or without playlists can be added to one content design. Find all your inserted elements by clicking on the
Elements icon in the right top corner.

D) Preview the content template.
If you have selected a transition effect, it will be displayed in the preview.

  1. Click on the Preview icon in the top menu to see your content.

  2. Click on the OK button to close the window.

E) Click on the Save & Publish button in the lower right-hand corner when your content design is final. Now it is ready to be assigned and shown on your display/s.
