Create and manage USERS

The Users tab is part of the system's user management where new users are created and further maintained. New user basic configuration includes:

  • user group assignment and 
  • zone assignment. 

The role assigned to the user defines the rights and permissions in the user interface. Roles are pre-configured, see the tutorial for an overview of User roles.

Audio device and display zones and zone groups are areas where announcements can be played or visual messages and visual paging can be displayed. The assigned user zones are those that the user sees for selection in the corresponding tabs for playback. No other zones can be selected unless assigned to the user, see also tutorial on Zoning your audio and display devices.

TUTORIAL STEPS:

A) Create a new user

  1. Open the Users tab.
  2. Click the New user button. A new Invite user sub-window opens.



B) Invite user

  1. Enter user’s email address.
  2. Enter the username. (login name of the user).
  3. Select the user's role. Predefined user roles determine user rights and permissions in user interfaces. 
  4. Click the Add user button. The user will receive an email with instructions from which they will be redirected to a login page where they will set their password and log in.

C) Click the newly created user record to edit it. 



D) Set PIN code 

You may want to set a pin code for users with the roles of user interfaces such as GateUI, BaggageUI, TugmanUI, and FlexUI.

  1. Click the Set PIN code button. A new Change pin-code pop-up window opens.
  2. Enter new user pin-code and confirm it.
  3. Click the Save button.


E) Assign zones and UI locale

  1. Select the UI language used for the user.
  2. Drag & drop required zones from Available zones & zone groups section to Selected zones & zone groups section.
  3. Click the Save button.

The newly created user will get an email with your invite to your Simpleway CX instance. Now s/he can acces the UI.
