Content assigned to the blank mode can be, for example, a small logo to **save display power** **consumption without turning the device off**. This approach creates an alternative to the display power control, which turns off the display power completely. Reach for it when a screen should go quiet but stay ready: - **Overnight or off-hours**. A terminal wing closes at 23:00. Instead of leaving flight boards running to an empty concourse, blank those displays to a logo and unblank them before the first departures — cutting power draw and screen wear while keeping the hardware warm and instantly available. - **Between events or flights**. A gate with no assigned flight, or a hall between events, shows a clean branded screen rather than stale or empty content. - **Maintenance and cleaning windows**. Blank a zone while crews work nearby, then bring it back with one action — no need to touch power or reassign content. - **Bulk quieting**. Close a whole pier or level at once using the bulk selection, and reverse it just as fast. > [!NOTE] > TIP! > > To completely **power off your screen/s**, see our tutorials on [Schedule power save mode for your displays](/v1/docs/schedule-power-save-mode-air). > > To **automate the blank content** on your screen, you would need to use the state scripting feature, see tutorial [STATE and display SCRIPTS](/v1/docs/content-logic). In this tutorial, we will assign content to the blank mode and show you the options to enable and disable the blank state.
